The Provo City Center LDS Temple open houses begin next week, and 20,000 people are expected to come to downtown Provo each day to see the restoration of this historic building. Parking is limited, so consider using UTA’s two convenient bus routes to the temple.

Routes 850 and 830 run every 15 minutes and connect riders from Provo FrontRunner Station to the temple and other stops along University Avenue. If you’re traveling with friends or family, consider UTA’s group pass, which will allow you and three others to travel to and from the temple on TRAX, FrontRunner and the bus for just $15.

The Provo City Center Temple is unique among other LDS structures because it was rebuilt on the site of the Provo Tabernacle. In December 2010, the 112-year-old tabernacle was severely damaged in a fire. Many historic pieces of the tabernacle were salvaged and reused, including stain glass windows, the original pulpit and a hand-carved newel post.

Admission is free but reservations are required and can be made pending availability at https://templeopenhouse.lds.org/.
