There’s no denying that the Wasatch Front is a great place to live. We’ve got skiing and hiking, beautiful mountains – but all too often, we also have winter inversion. UTA is inviting you to help clear the air by pledging to increase your travel on public transit throughout the month of February. Take the pledge and you’ll receive a fare card good for seven days of consecutive TRAX, FrontRunner, S-Line, local bus, ski bus and PC-SLC Connect travel between now and Feb. 28 (passes expire on Mar. 7).

To take the pledge, visit us in Ogden, Salt Lake City or Lehi on Wednesday, Feb. 3. Pledge to ride UTA at least one more time each week during February, and sign our clean air bus. We’ll give you a seven-day free fare card, which you can activate by tapping on an electronic card reader on one of our buses or train platforms. Three hundred cards will be distributed at each location. If you already have a UTA pass, you can give your card to someone who will use it and encourage them to take the #UTAPledge. We regret that we won’t be able to mail cards to people who can’t attend the event but encourage people to check back for future promotion opportunities.

Clean Air Facts

  • Riding UTA instead of driving one day per week prevents an average 5.4 pounds of emissions from being released into our air. If all Utahns made that commitment, we could reduce weekly emissions by 2,995 tons. Source: UCAIR’s Transit Calculator
