Introducing the New Central Depot District Garage!
This magnificent new facility replaces the outdated, 45-year-old Salt Lake Central Bus Garage and provides additional storage and state-of-the-art maintenance and mechanical resources for up to 150 buses and, as the need arises, can expand to service 250+ buses.
The Central Depot District Garage, Depot District for short, is expected to create jobs, spur economic growth in the region, and improve air quality. It is located just south of the existing UTA headquarters in Salt Lake City.
What is most unique about the new Central Depot District Garage is that it was designed to accommodate today’s alternative-fuel, clean-air transit vehicles and house a fleet that includes approximately 47 compressed natural gas (CNG) buses. Additional resources include: diesel fueling, administrative offices, charging facilities for up to 24 electric buses, outdoor bus parking under modern canopies, and a bus wash.
