Park and Ride Construction

UTA is sealing cracks and repainting lines at several TRAX and FrontRunner park and ride lots the week of September 13-17. Sections of the parking lots will be closed during this work. Please use the following information for parking.

TRAX Fashion Place Station

  • September 13: north section of lot closed
  • September 15: south section of lot closed

TRAX Murray North Station

  • September 13: north section of lot closed
  • September 15: south section of lot closed

TRAX Millcreek Station

  • September 13: central section of lot closed
  • September 17: north & south sections of lot closed

TRAX Murray Central Station

FrontRunner Layton Station

TRAX South Jordan Parkway Station Closure

South Jordan City and Larry H. Miller Group are extending Lake Run Road and building a Grandville Avenue intersection. This will result in alternative pedestrian access to the South Jordan Parkway Station. Use the following information to plan your trip:

Dates:

  • September 27 – October 1

Service:

  • Full vehicle, parking, and pedestrian access to the station
  • Use the temporary pedestrian trail (see map)
  • No access to the South entrance
  • Use the North entrance to enter and exit the station

Plan Ahead:

  • Give yourself an extra 5-10 minutes to get to the station

TRAX Station Construction - 600 S. Main Street

TRAX Sunday Service Delays

UTA is building a new station on Main Street at 650 South. This will result in single-track service for Red and Blue Line riders, and a TRAX bridge for Green Line riders. Please use the following information to plan your trip:

Dates:

  • October 3 (Sunday)
  • October 24 (Sunday)
  • November 7 (Sunday)
  • November 14 (Sunday)

Service:

  • Blue Line: single-track between Courthouse and Gallivan Plaza stations.
  • Red Line: single-track between Courthouse and Library stations. Trains will arrive 5 minutes earlier than scheduled throughout the day.
  • Green Line: transfer to the Blue line to travel between Ballpark and Gallivan Plaza stations, then board back onto the Green Line to reach your final destination.

Delays:

  • 15-30 minutes

Utah Transit Authority and Salt Lake City are partnering to construct a new TRAX station near the intersection of 600 South and Main Street. Part of the long-term plan for light rail, this station will provide access to a rapidly developing part of the city. Construction work is underway, with the station expected to open for service in early 2022.

Residents can expect day and night work activities with noise, dust, vibration, and nighttime lighting. Lane closures will take place at various times throughout the project. TRAX Airport Station Construction

Utah Transit Authority is building a new TRAX Airport Station for the all-new Salt Lake City International Airport. The following sections will help you plan your trip to the airport during this construction:

August 1 – October 3: Shuttle from Temporary Airport Station

From TRAX to the Airport:

  • Ride TRAX to the Temporary Airport Station
  • Board the Airport Shuttle on the East Side of the platform
  • Ride the Free Shuttle directly to the new airport terminals.

From the Airport to TRAX:

  • Go to the ground level of the airport and board the shuttle between doors 1A and 2A
  • Take the Free Airport Shuttle to the Temporary Airport Station.
  • Ride TRAX to your final destination. Last TRAX pickup is 11:14 p.m.

  • 15-30 minutes

    • 15 minute service before 7 p.m.
    • 30 minute service after 7 p.m.

  • Ride TRAX to your final destination

TRAX Mario Capecchi Curves Construction

UTA is replacing 20-year-old railroad curves on the TRAX Red Line near Mario Capecchi Drive and South Campus Drive. This construction will result in a TRAX Red Line delays and road closures between October 4-13.

TRAX Red Line Riders:

  • Bus Bridge: October 9-13
    UTA will operate a bus bridge from 900 East to University Medical Center Stations. The Fort Douglas Station will not be serviced due to road restrictions. Riders will need to use the South Campus Drive Station.
  • Regular Service Resumes: October 14
  • Expected Rider Delays: 15-30 minutes

  • Expect day and night noise, dust, vibration, and nighttime lighting during work activities. Barriers will be used to reduce noise.

  • South Campus Drive Westbound:
    • Westbound traffic will be closed from Mario Capecchi Drive to 1850 East
  • South Campus Drive Eastbound:
    • All lanes will be open
  • Mario Capecchi Drive Southbound:
    • Two lanes of traffic maintained from South Wasatch Drive to Gibbon Street
    • No westbound turn onto South Campus Drive
  • Mario Capecchi Drive Northbound:
    • No westbound turn onto South Campus Drive
  • Alternate Capecchi Drive and Hempstead Road Westbound Routes:
    • Mario Capecchi Drive to Foothill Drive and 500 South
    • Mario Capecchi Drive to Research Road
    • Foothill Boulevard to Sunnyside Avenue and Guardsman Way
  • Expected Motorist Delays: 30-60 minutes
