SALT LAKE CITY (Oct. 29, 2024) — The Utah Transit Authority has completed a summer-long effort to fill in platform boarding gaps at all FrontRunner stations. By removing the gap between the platform and train, FrontRunner passengers, especially those with mobility devices, strollers, and bikes, will board faster, safer and easier. View the UTA gap filler video for more details.
“Safety and customer experience are primary goals behind any change, addition or enhancement on FrontRunner,” said Zachary Thomas, commuter rail general manager at Utah Transit Authority. “The gap filler project reflects our commitment to providing the best rider experience possible.”
UTA’s design provides a level surface and smooth transition from platform to train car for passengers using rolling devices. Even with the level boarding, passengers who still want extra assistance getting on the train can head to the accessibility symbol at the platform’s south end, where a FrontRunner Train Host can help.
